Over the 33 years that I worked in the Federal Government in Ottawa, my focus was on regulations, public safety, attention-to-detail, precision and the chemistry and proper function of explosives. When I retired in 2008 I could finally let my artistic side free. I started doing every art & craft that struck my fancy including card making, beading, drawing, photography, lapidary, quilting, wood-working, carving, scroll saw, toll-painting, and watercolors.
When I moved to Vancouver Island in 2014 the first year was filled with renovations and getting used to a strata, but in 2015 I found the Greenglade Pottery Studio and I was hooked. I took a throwing course, followed by hand-building and lidded vessels in 2016. Every course since then has sent my pottery in new directions. I believe that each change in direction is leading towards my own distinct pottery style, somewhere in the future. And so my journey begins…..
