I am a clay sculptor who is inspired by the ocean and its shells, corals and marine life. I recently relocated to Vancouver island for retirement and am focusing on creating ocean inspired sculptures, participating in local art exhibits and teaching clay handbuilding part-time. I create abstract Coral Reef Wall Sculptures and abstract Clay Collage Vessels.
I have a B.F.A. degree with emphasis in pottery and audited a course in Exhibition Design and gallery management at the University of Hawaii. I was also a gallery director for Hawaii Pacific University. My sculptures have been exhibited in art exhibits on Oahu, Maui and Vancouver Island. I coordinated and taught clay handbuilding classes for adults and children at schools, the Contemporary Museum of Art on Oahu and currently at the Greenglade Community Centre pottery studio in Sidney, B.C.
